Recently sold on eBay for $76, Bird is a very nice album of gentle, peacenik folk recorded in 1978 that integrates some unique instruments, such as the hurdy-gurdy and a moog string ensemble, into the mix. Spring plays in a very similar style to the likes of Marrisa Nadler, Josephine Foster, Judee Sill, artists associated with the modern resurgance of "psych folk". The tune "Can You Feel Morning Inside You?" is especially beautiful and a personal favorite of the seller.

“Sally, the album is great!!! your awesome CD “pulls out the Chair” on next week’s show…. when a great CD of music reaches my ears. Can’t wait till my listeners hear it! You are still made of stars~it didn’t ever wear off from your childhood, trust me! The whole CD is a shining star! “- WUCX, Michigan – Trish Lewis
“I’ve been lucky enough to see & meet Sally on my past visits to Austin for SXSW. She’s a great performer & the new record (Made Of Stars),like the last, is a cracker & will be in my best releases for 2010.” - 3INR, Australia – Colin Fielding
“Absolutely love the new Sally Spring CD, beautifully conceived folk with an edge of country!” - CKUA, Canada – Tom Coxworth
"Sally's rendention of Cash's 'I Still Miss Someone' is achingly beautiful!" - WMBR , Boston – Doug Gesler
"There's a reason singer-songwriter guitarist Sally Spring is No. 1 on the Americana radio charts in Europe (and topping all other similar charts in the U.S., as well)-it's because she is so evocative of some of the greatest British female folk singers like Sandy Denny, Linda Thompson, and the early, warbling Marianne Faithfull (the moody blue “Mattie” marries all those artists in the unique voice that is Spring’s)...
Her version of Johnny Cash's "I Still Miss Someone" is extraordinary, with its quivering guitar, straight out of a David Lynch project; she slows it down Cat Power style, and can proudly stand up to any other artist who has recorded this song, including greats like Joan Baez and Dolly Parton...." examiner.com
